This film consists of five vignettes about taxi drivers and their passengers set in five different cities on the same night: Los Angeles, New York, Paris, Rome, and Helsinki.  

The second vignette, based in New York, was quite funny and touching, but the rest of the film was not at this level. 


Roberto Benigni was funny but I felt like I was watched a stand-up comic's routine that had merely been moved from the stage to the inside of a cab. 


Still, the cast is quite good.
